Back in 1954, Toho Studios (Tokyo, Japan), created a monster... literally. Godzilla, a 50 meter tall, atomic-breathing, mass of destruction. Depending on what movie you last saw, Godzilla was either a Radio-active T-rex (A.K.A Godzillasaurus) or a prehistoric Monster lurking in a Iceberg, awoken by atomic testing. Depending on what movie you last saw, Godzilla was either a Radio-active T-rex (A.K.A Godzillasaurus) or a prehistoric Monster lurking in a Iceberg, awoken by atomic testing. His first rampage into Tokyo was in 1954. He has since returned to Japan in 1984, fighting other monsters until his battle with Destroyer and subsequent meltdown in 1996. However, Godzilla was killed but not destroyed. He returned later in Godzilla 2000: Millenium and soon in Godzilla X Megaguirus. There was a licensed "Godzilla" movie made by Tri-star in 1998, but was just plain bad. To find out why, check out my review. All-in-all there have been 23 sequels to the original Godzilla movie. Anyone else know of a different movie that spawned this may sequels? Anyone? Anyone? No? Alright, sit down. The Godzilla series began in 1954 with a black and white movie about the horrors of the nuclear age. Next came a series of movies where Godzilla fought other monsters. These foes included beasts like Anguilius, Mothra, King Kong, Rodan, Ghidrah, Gigan, Mechagodzilla, Megalon, the Sea Monster (I know he has a name), as well as a host of others. In 1984 Toho released a new movie, where Godzilla was once again a bad guy. He was stomping Tokyo and destroying stuff for the sheer pleasure of it. Then the next movie was with Biolante, A rose/Godzilla hybrid. So began the Hesei series. Godzilla then revisited old freinds and new enemies. Ghidrah, Mothra, Rodan, and Mechagodzilla all made comebacks. New monsters Mecha-Ghidrah, MOGURA, SpaceGodzilla, Battra, and Destroyer, all came on the scene. Destroyer became Godzilla's final enemy... he died at the end of the battle. For all you who want to know more, there's quite a bit more. Godzilla The Military
